about

University of North Texas Moot Court is an appellate-style legal debate team that travels across the United States and Canada to competitions associated with the American Moot Court Association (AMCA). Of the over 400 undergraduate teams that compete in AMCA, our team is ranked number fourteen. This past season, UNT Moot experienced great success, both in terms of personal growth and accolades. Our members won a total of seventeen speaking awards and two championships. On top of that, nearly half of our team advanced to the national competition, where we collected an additional speaking award.

UNT Moot Court is a highly valuable program as we give undergraduate students the invaluable experience of appellate oral and written argumentation. In this way, the team gets a peak into the law school experience while developing communication and analysis skills that will last a lifetime.
